  • UNIVERSITY UNDERGRADUATE STUDY OF EARLY AND PRESCHOOL EDUCATION
    • Undergraduate university study with final thesis
    • Three-year study, 180 ECTS credits
    • Enrollment requirements: completed secondary education of 4 years or more, with passed exams of compulsory subjects from the state graduation
    • After completing the University undergraduate study of Early and pre-school education, the student acquires the right to enrol in the University graduate study of Early and pre-school education at the University of Slavonski Brod. The conditions for admission to university and professional graduate study programs of other higher education institutions are determined by these institutions
    • The holder of this qualification is authorized to use the legally protected academic title university bachelor (baccalaureus/ baccalaurea) of early and pre-school education (univ. bacc. praesc. educ.) and perform professional work in the field for which they have acquired competences. The study is based on basic knowledge in the field of care, education, social and health care and care of children from tse age of six months until they enrol primary school. An educator is a professional who conducts an educational program with children of early and preschool age and thinks about the educational process in their group. Educator plans, programs and values work, prepares materials and maintains the premises. They meet the daily needs of children, encourage their development, keep documentation, and cooperate with parents and professionals
    • The Undergraduate study program ends with the writing, defending the final thesis, a positive evaluation of the final thesis, and after the execution of all the obligations of the study program. Upon completion of the study, 180 ECTS credits are obtained and the academic title of University Bachelor (baccalaureus/ baccalaurea) of Early and pre-school education (univ. bacc. paed.). The study program includes fundamental courses of the profession, pedagogical-psychological group of courses, courses related to planning and implementation of the curriculum of early education, and elective courses. The acquired qualification enables the Bachelor of early an education to successfully act in the process of nursing, education, social and health care and child care from the age of six months until enroling primary school. An educator is qualified for the implementation of the educational program of work with children of early and preschool age, planning, programming and evaluation of educational work, collecting, making and maintaining funds for working with children, working on meeting the daily needs of children and their development tasks, and encouraging the development of each child in accordance with their developmental capabilities and abilities, keeping documentation on children and work and also meeting professional requirements in organization and improvement of educational process, cooperation with parents, experts and professional development team in kindergarten as well as with other participants in the upbringing and education of children of early and pre–school age in the local community.
    • The outcomes of the study program:
      • 1. To interdisciplinary approach to the educational process and integrate anthropological, pedagogical, psychological, cultural, sociological and other knowledge about modern childhood.
      • 2. To plan, organize and evaluate educational work taking into account the integral development of the child, their physical cognitions, socio-emotional needs, speech, creation and expression in accordance with the child’s chronological age, developmental status, abilities and interests.
      • 3. To apply effective strategies in encouraging the child’s learning, development of their abilities, skills and values in accordance with modern learning knowledge of a child of early and preschool age.
      • 4. To integrate different areas of children’s interests into the curriculum.
      • 5. To monitor the child’s developmental activities and help them in acquiring and disseminating cognition.
      • 6. To create a stimulating spatial-material and social environment for children’s learning.
      • 7. To apply the principles of tolerance, inclusivity, gender equality, diversity and multiculturalism in working with children and adults.
      • 8. To effectively observe, record and document children’s learning and apply different methodology of research of children’s knowledge acquisition with the aim of developing curricula.
      • 9. To act in a collaborative environment of an educational institution focused on the development of each individual educator, as well as the institution as a whole.
      • 10. To organize a collaborative and partnership relationship with parents and the wider community.
      • 11. To improve in the process of lifelong learning and apply the principles of professional ethics.
      • 12. To apply digital competences and modern technology with the purpose of teaching children and adults.
      • 13. To use a foreign language in interpreting the field of early and preschool education.

 

  • UNIVERSITY GRADUATE STUDY OF EARLY AND PRESCHOOL EDUCATION
    • Graduate university study with final thesis
    • Two-year study, 120 ECTS credits
    • Enrollment requirements: completed relevant university undergraduate studies
    • After completing the University graduate study of Early and pre-school education, the student can continue their education at postgraduate study programs of higher education institutions
    • The holder of this qualification is authorized to use the legally protected academic title of university master of early and pre-school education (univ. mag. praesc. educ.) and perform professional work in the field for which they have acquired competences. The study is based on basic knowledge in the field of care, education, social and health care and care of children from the age of six months until they start primary school. Within the study, competences of managing and organizing educational institutions of early and preschool education are acquired, as well as planning and implementation of personal professional development
    • The graduate study program ends with the writing, defending the final thesis, a positive evaluation of the final thesis, and after the execution of all the obligations of the study program. Upon completion of the study, one acquires 120 ECTS credits and the academic title of university master of early and pre-school education (univ. mag. praesc. educ.). The study program includes a pedagogical-psychological group of courses, courses of the profession and elective courses. The acquired qualification enables the master of early and pre-school education to create and implement integrated educational programs, adapt the approach to individual needs of children, actively participate in changes and improve practice, critical thinking to improve work, establish effective cooperation with parents and the community, lead educational institutions and systematic personal and professional development.
    • The outcomes of the study program:
      • 1. To integrate into your work modern knowledge about the development of the child from various fields of science (pedagogy, psychology, sociology, history and other sciences).

      • 2. To act in complex and layered processes of early and preschool education and respond to complex demands in the field of work.

      • 3. To use contemporary strategies in designing an integrated, developmental, constructivist and humanistic early childhood curriculum.

      • 4. To identify and act in changing and improving the development of the early education curriculum, critically assess the application of professional knowledge in educational practice and possible impacts on the quality of curricula.

      • 5. To develop and nurture critical thinking in their work environment and the wider community of practitioners.

      • 6. To competently participate in all forms of professional and lifelong learning, that is in continuous professional, professional and personal training.

      • 7. To sovereignly use their communication competencies, that isabilities of oral and written expression in mother tongue and foreign language as well as digital literacy.

      • 8. To organize research projects with different research paradigms, and connect the educational process with scientific paradigms and empower creative and active research components.

      • 9. To support and initiate partnerships with families and the local and wider social environment.

      • 10. To develop the competences of managing an educational institution and organize the management of the institution.

      • 11. To develop personally and professionally in a specialist or postgraduate study.

  • UNIVERSITY INTEGRATED UNDERGRADUATE AND GRADUATE CLASS TEACHER STUDY

    • Integrated undergraduate and graduate study with the preparation of a thesis

    • Five-year study, 300 ECTS credits

    • Enrollment requirements: completed secondary education for a period of four years or more, with passed exams of compulsory subjects from the state graduation exam
    • After completing the University integrated undergraduate and graduate Class teacher studiy, the student can continue their education at the postgraduate study programs of higher education institutions.
    • The study programme qualifies the student for direct work with pupils in all forms of educational work, improvement of the educational process, implementation of research in the field of education and realization of lifelong learning and professional development.
    • The integrated undergraduate and graduate Class teacher study program ends with the writing, defending the final thesis, a positive evaluation of the final thesis, and after the execution of all the obligations of the study program. Upon completion of the study, 300 ECTS credits are acquired and the academic title of university master of primary education (univ. mag. prim. educ.). The study program includes a pedagogical-psychological group of courses, courses related to their profession and elective courses. The acquired qualification enables masters of class teacher education to educate in the classroom system, independent teaching in all curricular subjects and areas and in all forms in which these classes in primary education are conducted (regular, elective, supplementary, additional classes, leisure activities, cultural and public activities), establishment of effective cooperation with parents and the community, management of educational institutions and systematic personal and professional development.
    • The outcomes of the study program: 
      • 1. Apply contemporary theories in practice by independently planning, performing and evaluating the curriculum of primary education of language-communication, mathematical, informatics, natural science, physical health, music, art and research-cognitive field.
        2. Apply modern strategies, methods, procedures and techniques of teaching based on an interdisciplinary approach to education
        3. Organize and perform a teaching process that is aimed at the child and in accordance with the modern achievements of the science of education.
        4. Apply modern research techniques in the field of quantitative and qualitative methodology within the framework of different scientific paradigms in accordance with ethical principles of the profession.
        5. Analyze and apply basic and special interests and needs of each child, opportunities, learning styles and culture of pupils with an emphasis on the development of social and communication competences and the adoption of basic social values.
        6. Recognize needs and apply special knowledge in working with pupils with disabilities.
        7. Apply modern knowledge and skills in all teaching areas.
        8. Evaluate and analyze contemporary achievements in the field of education.
        9. Organize, research and improve educational work.
        10. Cooperate with parents, associates in primary school as well as other participants in the education of pupils in the local community in identifying and achieving programs of public needs in the field of education of pupils.

After completing the undergraduate professional study of Management, the professional bachelor of economics will be able to:

  • define and solve various problems in economics, finance, accounting, marketing, organization, quantitative methods, statistics and informatics [Basics]
  • apply the necessary knowledge about the methods and techniques of economic analysis, business problems that are necessary to prepare decisions for solving them in small and medium-sized enterprises [Application of knowledge and skills]
  • act individually and within a team to achieve business results and solve more complex management problems with other people, using skills in interpersonal relationships, management techniques and professional skills [Teamwork]
  • apply the acquired basic knowledge for independent management of the enterprise or professional performance of general management, marketing, finance or accounting [Practical skills]

Upon graduation, the University Bachelor of Economics should be able to:

  • analyze and identify the overall economic activities of the national economy
  • apply macroeconomic knowledge in the processes and reforms of the national economy and its inclusion in global market flows
  • analyze basic functions and processes in the field of economic entity management (use specialized knowledge for managing individual business functions – marketing, finance, production, sales, procurement, to improve business)
  • monitor the impact of key environmental variables on the business perspective of the company using microeconomic analysis
  • identify economic problems by applying quantitative business decision-making methods
  • evaluate basic aspects of producer and consumer behaviour in the market
  • examine the structure of the financial system – institutions, markets, instruments and policies and comment on the functioning of the financial system
  • apply the achievements of the digital age (information and communication technology) in order to improve business
  • develop communication and cooperation in different business situations in domestic and international environment
  • analyze the effects of international trade and international capital flows
